Palm Oil Processing
ATIL’s 20T/D palm oil extraction line is basically an 8-Steps process.
On arrival at the processing site, the fresh Palm Fruit Bunches are measured, recorded. At the Sterilizer, fresh palm fruit bunches are airtight sterilized in sterilizer. The purposes is to prevent enzymatic activity and, avoiding the increase of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) content in the oil. This section also enhances the performance of threshing machinery; pre-treatment of peel prepared for the follow-up processing and pre-conditioning the stone (Palm Nut) to reduce the rate of kernel damage.
The purpose of threshing is to separate oil palm fruit from the fruit bunch through strong vibration. Threshing equipment is a revolving drum thresher. The separated oil palm fruit is then ejected into the pressing section. Empty fruit bunches will be ejected to the yard from the other side of the revolving drum or shipped out from the plant as palm orchards slipcover to recycling use or burnt in the locale as fertilizer for agricultural Land. At the Digesting, oil palm fruits are cooked, sterilized fruit must be re-heated to make the pulp soft and to damage pulp cell structure. The mass is channeled into continuous screw press for pressing. After pressing, oil palm fruit is divided into two parts: The first is oil, water, solid impurities mixture and the second is pressed cake (fiber and Palm Nuts). The Oil, water, solid impurities mixture flows into oil purification section by the crude oil gutter while the pressed cake goes into the fiber- recovery section by breaking screw conveyor. At the Clarification section, Machine-pressed crude oil is diluted with water, then fiber materials are removed from the oil through settlement and filtration. Continuous settlement is carried out and the whole mixture is divided into two parts: oil and sediment. The oil sediment is filtered and dirty oil separated. The process continues until clarification is complete. Skim oil is then carried out and after the second settlement, sewage is pumped to sewage treatment pond. At the Oil Drying through centrifugal separation and vacuum drying, oil is pumped into the storage tank for storage. The finished crude oil is stored in storage tanks, the capacity of oil storage tank includes 2 Nos 50 tons tanks, It serves as oil shed, loading and issuing oil regularly to outside. Finished crude oil generally be stored and transported between at 32 ℃- 40 ℃, the working temperature of the palm oil should be at 50 ℃ to 55 ℃. to prevent overheating.
